Bytheway Genealogy

Welcome to the Bytheway/Bydawell Genealogy website.

The Bytheway database, which is currently not maintained on this website, contains Bytheway and Bydawell marriages from England, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Nearly 450 of these marriages are currently listed on this website, about one quarter supported by post-1837 certificates. The original certificates are not stored on the website, but you will find printable certificate transcripts in the Marriage Index [click on Marriage Transcripts button, above]. 

The pages on this website are copyrighted, but the information is available free of charge. If you find a use for any of these records, please give proper credit, and mention this website as the source. 

Recently, I announced on this page that there would be no new genealogical data introduced to the website after December 31, 2008. This decision seems to have been premature, based on the number of researchers who have written to ask me to continue adding data. Therefore, the website will remain active, but I plan to make some changes in presentation and content. 

In order to improve the presentation of the marriage information, and to make it easier to use, a new index is now being developed, which, hopefully, will be ready to publish to the website sometime between spring and summer of 2009. It will contain nearly all of the marriages (700+) in my database, with the exception of those occurring after 31 Dec 1935 (my cutoff date). 

I appreciate the encouragement I have received from researchers (and many curious visitors) from around the world, and look forward to assisting you in the future.
